Designer / Melanie Löff-Bird   Course / Design and Technology   Role / Research and Design

Image and Technology course gives students an overview of digital and analog processes related to image generation. It also introduces simple critical and interpretive ideas about images in context with an audience. Students 1) explore imagery, both through image making and image analysis, individually and through collaborative methods, 2) survey the varied production methods available to graphic designers, in an introductory rather than a comprehensive capacity, 3) begin to develop varied working methods and become aware of the impact of method on product, 4) understand applied knowledge of techniques, software skills and production, and 5) practice data collection methods such as interviews and participant observations.
