The North Carolina Children's Book Festival celebrates wonderful children’s book classics such as "Green Eggs and Ham," "Where the Wild Things Are," and "Goodnight Moon." The festival celebrates the joy of reading, the power of the written words, and the magic of storytelling with children’s book authors and illustrators from around the country. The festival includes free activities and events both for children and their parents. There is face painting, balloon animals, and a “craft shack” to help engage the children, as well as book signings, book readings and story time by the authors. The festival website provides event details outlining the schedule, authors and illustrators, transportation, maps, and a downloadable event poster. The phone application helps way-finding in the venue. It provides users with a simple graphic representation of the festival booths' layout.

Booth Finder App

The “Booth-Finder” phone application is simple, and allows users to do four things: go to the home page, view a map of the festival booths, view an informative list of the booths, and go to the full festival website. The map is a simple graphic representation of the festival booth layout, that allows users to view their current position in relation to the surrounding booths, and list view explains each booth. With this application, users can navigate the festival with ease, and know what to expect, and where to find it. The application helps informing visitors, and getting them excited about the North Carolina Children’s Book Festival.
